The three-day programme featured concerts, masterclasses, exhibitions, competitions and tastings. Districts of Khorezm Region, leading farms and other participants presented dozens of melon varieties, regional products and agricultural achievements. The festival also concluded with an awards ceremony. First place went to the administration of Yangiboy district, second place to the Khorezm Regional Department of Agriculture, while third place was shared by Urgench State University, the Khorezm branch of UzAuto and the Khorezm Regional Road Administration. The three-day international Melon Festival in Khiva concluded with a world record for the largest simultaneous melon tasting. According to the Guinness World Records certificate presented at the event, 259 people took part in the tasting simultaneously on August 9, sampling more than 10 varieties of melon.

Under the memorandum, Syria will take control of Hmeimim Airport and the fourth commercial berth at the Port of Tartus.
