Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed attracting new cargoes to the Middle Corridor
“Report” reports with reference to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (AŽD) that chairman of the CJSC Rovshan Rustamov met with chairman of Uzbekistan Railways Zufar Narzullayev and chairman of Tajik Railways Komil Mirzoali both separately and in trilateral format during his visit to Uzbekistan.

The meetings discussed cooperation in the railway sector, as well as opportunities to increase freight turnover along the Central Asia-Europe-Central Asia and China-Europe-China routes, and the importance of promoting these opportunities in the global market.

During the meeting, the heads of railway structures discussed the projects currently underway to provide competitive and digital services to further increase freight traffic along the Middle Corridor and to attract new cargoes.

At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand co-operation.

In addition, the AŽD delegation took part in a roundtable discussion organised by local logistics companies as part of the working visit.
