Babur — a ruler with a pen in hand
Uzbekistan
February 14 marks the 543th anniversary of the birth of a ruler, poet, and thinker who left a lasting imprint on the history of the East and world culture.
Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur was born on February 14, 1483, in Andijan. He became a prominent statesman, military leader, and poet, as well as the founder of the Mughal dynasty. His name is associated not only with military achievements and state-building, but also with a rich literary legacy.
Babur is remembered as a ruler who paid attention to social, economic, and legal issues. Historical accounts indicate that reforms were carried out during his reign to strengthen governance and the economic system.
A special place in his legacy belongs to the famous work Baburnama, an autobiographical memoir describing the history, customs, and traditions of the peoples of Transoxiana, Khorasan, and India. The book also addresses questions of governance, economics, and everyday life.
Although Babur was not considered a pioneer in economic thought, scholars describe him as a well-educated ruler and thinker who understood the role of the economy in the development of society and the state.
Babur died on December 26, 1530, in Agra. He left a lasting mark not only as a commander and ruler, but also as a poet, historian, and author whose works remain an important part of Eastern cultural heritage.
