Bukhara and Trabzon Become Sister Cities

Uzbekistan and Turkey continue to strengthen regional cooperation — a memorandum of partnership has been signed between Bukhara and Trabzon.
Bukhara and the Turkish city of Trabzon have officially established sister city relations. The corresponding memorandum was signed during the visit of a Turkish delegation led by the governor of Trabzon province, Ahmet Metin Genç.
During the meeting with the leadership of Bukhara region, both sides emphasized that the friendly relations and political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey have laid a solid foundation for the active development of interregional cooperation.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, logistics, and tourism. Special attention was given to untapped potential, and concrete plans were outlined to achieve tangible results.
Participants were also presented with an overview of Bukhara’s investment and economic potential. At the end of the meeting, a sister city memorandum was signed between the two regions.
As part of the visit, the Turkish delegation will tour projects implemented by Turkish investors and visit Bukhara’s historical and cultural landmarks.
