On May 27, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Uzbekistan, Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi, according to the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

It was reported that during the meeting, issues of developing and elevating the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries were discussed.

The parties noted that the current level of mutual trade does not reflect the potential of the two countries and emphasized the need to boost joint business projects among entrepreneurs.

During the dialogue, there was an exchange of views on uniting efforts for further extensive cooperation in science, education, culture, and the tourism potential of the countries.

The conversation highlighted the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue through mutual visits, experience exchange, and establishing close ties between the relevant committees of the legislative bodies of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the diplomat assured that all opportunities and potential will continue to be utilized for the further development of bilateral relations.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with the Sultanate of Oman on April 22, 1992.
