Chinese Head of State Xi Jinping met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on September 22 and announced the establishment of a “strategic partnership.” This was reported by the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
Xi Jinping said the cooperation will be an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations.
“Faced with an international situation full of instability and uncertainty, China is willing to continue cooperation with Syria, resolutely support each other, develop friendly cooperation and jointly defend international justice,” the Chinese leader said.
Bashar al-Assad reportedly arrived in China on September 21 and met with Xi Jinping on September 22.
