CIS Countries to Begin Anti-Terror Drills in Uzbekistan

The CIS countries will commence the "Vostok-Antiterror-2024" anti-terror exercises in Tashkent, according to UzA. These drills will be held as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure and the CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extremism.
The exercises, scheduled for September 4-5, will be coordinated by the State Security Service of Uzbekistan and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center. The main goal is to enhance the skills and operations of the CIS countries' relevant structures in joint anti-terror activities.
During the drills, participants will focus on detecting and preventing terrorist acts at critical infrastructure sites and crowded areas.
The Tashkent conferences aim to strengthen cooperation in security among CIS countries. These exercises also provide an opportunity to test new strategies in combating terrorism within the Commonwealth.
