From 1 January, flights on the Tashkent-Karshi route will be increased from 2 to 7 times a week.

Under the chairmanship of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev it was noted that civil aviation will be launched at Shakhrisabz airport.

It is noted that from 1 January new flights of ATR planes will be opened to Shakhrisabz airport, and local flights to Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm regions and Ferghana Valley regions will be increased. The number of flights on the Tashkent-Karshi route will be increased from 2 to 7 times a week.

As a result, the cost of air tickets will decrease by 2 times, and the flow of foreign and domestic tourists will increase by 3 times.

Officials have been instructed to relax the requirements for travelling through the Takhtakaracha Pass.

Next year, construction of a new tunnel and road will begin at the Takhtakaracha Pass. Together with Chinese investors, repair work will begin on a 30-kilometre road connecting Samarkand and Shakhrisabz.

Also, $122.5 million will be used to repair a 100-kilometre section of the Guzor-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu road through Kashkadarya Oblast.

In general, next year the task is set to bring foreign tourists to 500 thousand.
