Cybercriminals show interest in AI
Technology
Discussions about chatbots on the darknet peaked in March 2023, and have been going on for almost 11 months. GPT experts note that fraudsters have taken an interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and are constantly looking at ways to use it to launch attacks against Internet users.
The darknet is discussing hidden requests that can be used to "hack" ChatGPT so that the chatbot can help create viruses and coordinate attacks on network users. Attackers have also found ways to create alternative versions of common chatbots, such as XXXGPT and FraudGPT, aimed at helping scammers.
Kaspersky Lab analyst Alisa Kulishenko notes that hackers have started hacking and acquiring ChatGPT accounts to use them for their own purposes. In this connection, services for hacking or mass registration of paid accounts in the service have started to be offered on the darknet. Security experts emphasise the need for large companies to pay attention to this problem.
