Digital medicine: projects that change healthcare in Uzbekistan were presented
Uzbekistan
On the official page of Saida Shavkatovna Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, information was shared about the new projects of the Center for Digital Healthcare under the Ministry of Health. These initiatives have the potential to transform the nation’s healthcare system.
The unified system DMED already stores the electronic health records of 33 million citizens, making doctors’ work easier and giving them more time for patients.
The newly created Situation Center provides real-time data on doctors’ workload and equipment status, allowing for more efficient allocation of resources.
Special attention was given to the “Ko‘ngil ko‘zi” project, which has been operating in Uzbekistan for seven years. With the help of artificial intelligence, retinopathy in premature babies can now be detected in the first days of life, giving thousands of infants a chance to preserve their eyesight and preventing up to 90% of childhood blindness cases.
The Center also introduced technologies for the early detection of stroke and breast cancer. Experts emphasize that artificial intelligence will not replace doctors but will become a reliable assistant, saving their time and effort.
These projects open new horizons for digital healthcare and bring hope to thousands of families.
