Energy Efficiency: New Materials to Be Used in Construction
Uzbekistan
During a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the potential of using energy-efficient materials in construction was discussed. It was noted that the processing of basalt raw materials has already reduced energy consumption in new housing and social facilities by up to 20%.
Experts highlighted that further reduction of energy usage by up to two times could be achieved by incorporating materials like solar-reflective glass, fiber-reinforced panels, and vermiculite mixtures. However, the production of special solar-reflective glass coated with indium, aluminum, or zinc, which is in high demand, has not yet been established.
The company "Kvars" in Quvasoy is planning to invest $20 million in this field and aims to produce 5 million square meters of such glass annually.
The president approved the project and gave relevant instructions for its implementation.
