Erdogan: humanity can no longer tolerate the tragedy in Gaza
The world community can no longer tolerate what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech at the G20 online summit.

"The tragedy unfolding in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, has exceeded the limits of humanity's tolerance," the Turkish leader said.

Erdogan also said Israel's aggression in the Gaza Strip cannot be justified by the right to self-defence.

Recalling that 20 November is World Children's Day, he noted that "nearly 7,000 innocent Palestinian children did not live to see this day."

"Israel has forced Palestinians to migrate from their own homeland. It has brutally bombed hospitals, schools, refugee camps, places of worship and churches. They have lost control of themselves to the point of threatening to use nuclear weapons, the possession of which they have consistently denied until today," Erdogan said.

The Turkish president described as a positive situation the announcement of a four-day humanitarian pause in the conflict between Israel and Hamas and the agreement between the sides to exchange prisoners. He expressed hope that the move would lead to a long-term ceasefire and peace.
