The European Commission’s post on the new USB-C standard drew attention after users noticed that the phrase “One port, one cable, one Europe” closely resembles the Nazi slogan “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer,” sparking criticism.

European Commission Under Fire Over USB-C Slogan
The European Commission’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) posted about the introduction of a single USB Type-C charging standard across the European Union. The post used the phrase “One port, one cable, one Europe” to emphasize simplification and standardization of cables.

However, social media users pointed out that this phrase closely mirrors the infamous Nazi slogan “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer,” used in Third Reich propaganda.

At the time of reporting, there was no official comment from the European Commission. The post has since been deleted or edited, but screenshots prompted active discussion online, with criticism over the inappropriate use of a phrase reminiscent of Nazi symbolism.

Experts note that even accidental similarities in phrasing can provoke negative public reaction and undermine trust in official European institutions.
