Exports of Uzbek goods to Türkiye declined over the past two years
Yesterday, the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism considered the reports of Uzbekistan's ambassadors to Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

According to the press service of the upper house of parliament, the main topics of discussion were the timely and quality implementation of the roadmap projects approved as a result of the high-level visits.

It was noted that in 2023, $1.2 billion of direct investment was attracted jointly with Türkiye, and more than 300 new enterprises were created with the participation of state-owned companies. However, the senators expressed concern over the decline in exports of Uzbek products to Türkiye over the past two years.

It was also noted at the meeting that out of 48 investment projects totaling $613.4 million with Türkiye, 6 projects totaling $20.5 million are behind schedule for various reasons. In addition, 11 projects totaling $342 million were not implemented due to the inaction of ministries and departments because of poor quality elaboration.
