FSB Says It Exposed British Intelligence Officer Under Diplomatic Cover

Russia’s Federal Security Service has reported the exposure of a British intelligence officer allegedly working in Moscow under diplomatic cover.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced that it uncovered an agent of the UK intelligence services who entered the country under diplomatic cover, RIA Novosti reported citing the agency.
According to the FSB, Davies Gareth Samuel, born in 1980, was sent to Russia under the guise of serving as Second Secretary of the Administrative and Technical Department at the British Embassy in Moscow. Russian authorities claim his activities were intelligence-related.
The FSB said Samuel’s accreditation has been revoked, and he has been ordered to leave Russia within two weeks.
Following the incident, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned UK Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Dainy Dolakia for explanations. No official response from London has been reported so far.
