Fuel Oil Ban: New Environmental Measures to Take Effect by 2030
Uzbekistan
Starting in 2030, enterprises in Tashkent and the surrounding areas will be prohibited from using fuel oil as an energy source. This decision is part of broader efforts to enhance environmental sustainability in the region.
Between 2025 and 2030, a "green belt" and "green gardens" will be established on 441 hectares of land in Tashkent and nearby areas to improve air quality and promote environmental health.
Additionally, dust and gas filtration systems will be installed in over 1,200 greenhouses near Tashkent to reduce the negative effects of coal fuel. A subsidy system will be introduced to help greenhouse operators install this equipment.
From 2028, the use and sale of motor fuel below the Euro-4 environmental standard will be gradually restricted, contributing to the region's overall environmental improvements.
