The working meeting took place on 30 November.

"The parties discussed issues of developing co-operation within the framework of the strategic co-operation agreement signed in November. In particular, they discussed the prospects for long-term supplies and transportation of Russian natural gas," the statement said.

In early November, Gazprom and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in the supply, transportation and processing of natural gas, as well as its geological exploration and production.

It is noted that in June Uzbekistan signed a two-year gas purchase agreement with Gazprom, the volume of supplies per day will be 9 million cubic metres, and annual - almost 2.8 billion cubic metres. Deliveries under this agreement began on 7 October 2023.

At the same time, Gazprom and Kazakhstan are now working out a supply route for the gasification of Astana, the company is also considering new routes and the Bukhara-Ural gas pipeline to increase supplies to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In addition, Gazprom does not rule out gas transit through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to third countries.
