George W. Bush: I was shocked that Yevgeny Prigozhin was “the guy who fed me”
George W. Bush, who served as US president from 2001 to 2009, said he was shocked to learn that he had personally met with entrepreneur and Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin. Business Insider reports this.

Bush spoke about this at the European Strategy Conference in Yalta. At the congress, the former president was asked how the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin in a plane crash affected him.

"No, much to my surprise, the other day I saw a photo from the G8 summit in St. Petersburg where the guy [Prigozhin] was serving me food," Bush said.

He called Yevgeny Prigozhin the “chef” of Russian President Vladimir Putin and noted that he was present in a photo taken in St. Petersburg in 2006.

Bush added that he does not remember meeting Prigozhin in person.

"I just know I survived," Bush said.
