Uzbekistan is building an international-class airport
Amid growing foreign economic ties and increasing investment inflows, Uzbekistan is prioritizing the development of its transport network as a crucial driver of economic growth. The reconstruction of "Tashkent-East" airport aims to provide fast, safe, and comfortable flights in line with high international standards, while also partially relieving the main international airport of the capital.

In the first stage, the 4-kilometer runway has been fully renovated, allowing the airport to receive aircraft of all classes, including the heaviest.

Construction is underway for two terminals — one for receiving official delegations and another for servicing business aviation — as well as for the apron and hangar facilities. The airport will be equipped with Category III-A radio-technical and meteorological equipment according to ICAO standards, ensuring reliable takeoff and landing operations even under adverse weather conditions.

Closed hangars will provide safe and high-quality maintenance and storage for aircraft.

Thanks to its favorable location, "Tashkent-East" will become an important transport hub for both Tashkent and the new city of New Tashkent. The project will stimulate the development of the tourism sector in Tashkent region, create additional conditions for receiving foreign investors, increase business activity, boost the service sector, and generate new jobs.

The President reviewed the technical specifications and architectural designs of the terminals and instructed to accelerate construction works and improve service quality.
