Iran has announced that it will refrain from attacking neighboring Middle Eastern countries as long as their territories are not used to launch attacks against Tehran. The decision comes amid escalating tensions across the region.

Iran Pledges Not to Strike Neighbors
According to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the country’s temporary governing council decided that Iran will not strike neighboring states unless attacks against Tehran are carried out from their territory.

The president said the move is aimed at preventing the conflict from spreading further across the Middle East and at reducing regional tensions.

The statement comes as hostilities between Iran and Israel continue and amid heightened tensions surrounding the military presence of the United States in the region.

Several Gulf states have previously expressed concern about the risk of the conflict expanding and called on all sides to exercise restraint.
