From 1 December, the energy system will switch to round-the-clock operation. In the coming months, eight solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 1.7 thousand megawatts and a gas turbine with a capacity of 500 megawatts will be put into operation in the Syr Darya.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Uzbekneftegaz joint-stock company and familiarised himself with the preparation of the energy system for the winter season. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
According to the report, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Uzbekneftegaz on 22 November and heard a report of officials on ensuring demand for energy resources in cold days.
The energy system will switch to round-the-clock operation from 1 December, he said. In the coming months, 8 solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 1.7 thousand megawatts, as well as a gas turbine with a capacity of 500 megawatts will be put into operation in Syr Darya. Extraction of 900 thousand tonnes of coal will start at Shargun field in Surkhandarya region.
In addition, a reserve of liquefied gas, fuel oil, transformers, cables and other necessary spare parts has been prepared.
"This year we have allocated 14.5 trillion sums from all sources to improve the energy system. We have provided everything necessary - raw materials, materials, equipment. Now the sphere leaders need to take full responsibility, plan everything clearly and ensure guaranteed energy supply," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
