President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Islam Karimov Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex and laid a wreath at the monument to the First President.

Islam Karimov led Uzbekistan during an exceptionally difficult and crucial period in the country's history. His name is inextricably linked with the country's independence, the revival of national statehood, and its emergence on the path of independent development.

Independence, above all, restored our honor and dignity, our sacred religion, our native language, and forgotten national values.

Thanks to independence, we realized our identity and demonstrated to the world that we are worthy heirs to the glory of our fathers and grandfathers.

In this sense, preserving the memory of those who made a significant contribution to laying the foundations of the country's independence, ensuring peace and stability, and serving the well-being of the people is an important spiritual value.

At the initiative and with the attention of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extensive work has been carried out to perpetuate the memory of the First President. A scientific and educational memorial complex named after Islam Karimov has been established in Tashkent. Visiting his mausoleum during trips to Samarkand has become a good tradition.

At the ceremony, verses from the Quran were recited and du'a were offered. Islam Karimov's contributions to achieving the country's independence, ensuring peace and stability, and improving the well-being of the people were recognized.

Representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and agencies, intellectuals, and the public of Tashkent also laid flowers at the monument to the First President.

Memorial events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
