The extraordinary session of the Kengash of People's Deputies of Tashkent held on 3 April turned out to be a landmark event in the life of Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.
The government has been instructed to study all districts and create 250,000 high-paying jobs in Tashkent city and attract $2 billion in investment.
The task is to introduce international best practices in industry, infrastructure, entrepreneurship and public services in the capital.
To stimulate this work, the head of state suggested holding a competition and presenting an electric car to the most exemplary neighbourhood at the end of the year. This proposal was warmly supported.
At the end of the session, the President spoke with people's deputies, neighbourhood chairmen, intellectuals and young people.
