The Japanese government intends to launch an H-2A rocket with a reconnaissance satellite on 11 January, which will collect information on the situation in North Korea. This is reported by the TV channel NHK.

On 7 September, Japan successfully launched an H-2A rocket with its first lunar exploration landing module called SLIM.
