Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv remains committed to its long-standing position — pursuing a “dignified peace” — and will not take any actions that could undermine the international diplomatic process. He announced this in a video address posted on Telegram.

Zelensky said he met with U.S. representatives who presented proposals on possible steps to end the war. According to him, Ukraine outlined its key principles, and expert teams from both countries will continue detailed work on the plan.

The president stressed that Ukraine will avoid sharp statements and is focused on “clear and honest” cooperation with the United States, European partners, and other allies. He thanked EU states for their support, noting his recent discussions with Finland’s President Alexander Stubb and ongoing communication with France’s leader.

Zelensky also said he expects to speak with Donald Trump in the coming days, emphasizing that “the power and support of the United States can truly bring peace closer,” and that Ukraine does not want to lose this opportunity.

Commenting on Russia’s stance, Zelensky stated that Moscow “has no genuine desire for peace,” seeking instead to ease sanctions and gain more time. He added that the U.S. is capable of pressuring Russia into treating negotiations on ending the war more seriously.

“Ukraine needs peace, and we are doing everything to ensure nobody in the world can claim that it is us who are disrupting diplomacy,” he concluded.
