Land Speculators Arrested

Officers of the State Security Service (SSS) of Tashkent Region, in cooperation with the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, conducted a special operation in which two residents of Bustonliq District (born in 1980 and 1988) were arrested. They had conspired to illegally register 20 sotkas (0.2 hectares) of land, allocated by the district administration for gardening and viticulture, in the name of a buyer in exchange for $230,000. The suspects were caught with material evidence at the scene.
During the continuation of the special operation, another individual, born in 1964, who falsely presented himself as the owner of the land plot, was also arrested. He was caught at the moment of receiving $230,000 for transferring the land to the buyer.
In another case recorded in Bustonliq District, a 1996-born individual attempted to sell 36 sotkas (0.36 hectares) of land from the protected zone of the Chirchiq River, which had been allocated by a 2008 district administration decision for landscaping and setting up a boat dock. He agreed to sell the plot for $150,000 and additionally demanded $10,000 for processing the necessary documents through his contacts in the cadastre system. The suspect was arrested while receiving $160,000, with material evidence secured.
Another case took place in Tashkent, where a 1992-born individual fraudulently attempted to sell 72.6 sotkas (0.726 hectares) of non-residential land, belonging to eight citizens. He agreed to sell each sotka for $14,900, amounting to a total of $1,081,740.
Furthermore, he demanded $10,000 to change the land category to residential use and obtain permission to construct a multi-story building. However, during a special operation conducted by the SSS, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and law enforcement agencies, he was arrested while receiving an advance payment of $110,000.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against the detainees, and investigations are ongoing.
