World
Saudi Arabia’s state-owned mining company Ma’aden has announced the discovery of a massive gold deposit stretching more than 125 kilometers northeast of Mecca. The newly found reserves are located near the country’s largest operational mine, Mansourah–Massarah, and could become one of the biggest gold discoveries in the kingdom’s history.
The find carries strategic importance for Riyadh as part of its Vision 2030 program, which aims to diversify the national economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues.
According to Ma’aden representatives, the development of new mines and processing facilities marks a major step toward building a future economy based on technology, metals, and knowledge.
