Mirziyoyev: 2025 will be the most important and decisive year for ensuring employment and reducing poverty

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on February 3 regarding the ongoing work on ensuring employment and attracting investments. Specific instructions were given on providing jobs for 5.2 million people, lifting 1.5 million people out of poverty, attracting 42 billion dollars in foreign investments, and increasing exports to over 30 billion dollars during the year.

The meeting provided information on the ongoing work and initial results. In January, 277 thousand citizens found employment, with 91 thousand securing permanent jobs and 153 thousand being engaged in entrepreneurship.

Job creation and investments are interrelated. This year, 8 thousand projects worth nearly 14 billion dollars are planned, which will create 272 thousand permanent jobs.

Preliminary calculations indicate that last month, 3 billion dollars in foreign investments came into the country. In February, a similar amount of investment is expected, and 623 projects are planned to be launched.

The head of state emphasized that “2025 will be the most important and decisive year for ensuring employment and reducing poverty.”

It was also stressed at the meeting that it is necessary to focus on specific projects and sharply increase their implementation pace.

Since the beginning of the year, the export volume has reached 1.3 billion dollars. Officials were instructed to work with foreign partners, assist entrepreneurs in entering external markets, and attract new enterprises to export.
