Mirziyoyev puts forward important proposals at OTS summit

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, attending the 10th summit of the Organisation of Turkic States in Astana, has put forward six important proposals and initiatives.
The head of state said that under the current circumstances, the main goal should be to strengthen the principles of mutual respect, trust and openness within the organisation, to jointly and effectively overcome various obstacles, and he stressed the need to develop a Charter of the Turkic World.
In addition, Mirziyoyev noted the importance of intensifying work on the establishment of the Turkic Development Bank in order to strengthen industrial co-operation and implement large-scale joint investment projects and proposed to locate this financial institution in Tashkent.
He also proposed the establishment of a research centre for trade cooperation among Turkic states.
The President expressed support for measures to expand the potential of the Middle Corridor to meet the growing demand for freight transport. He also proposed to develop additional multi-sectoral directions, in particular corridors passing through our countries to the markets of China, South Asia and Europe, digitalisation of transport services, establishing for this purpose the Council of Railway Authorities of Turkic States and locating the directorate of this structure in Uzbekistan.
All mankind is seriously affected by various problems arising as a result of climate change. This situation requires urgent measures from all of us.
The head of Uzbekistan said the formation of the Turkish Ecological Forum operating at the ministerial level will undoubtedly be an important step in this direction.
In addition, he noted that the idea of development of the Turkic civilisation is inextricably linked to comprehensive support for technological progress and advanced knowledge.
At the same time, he suggested opening the Centre for Creative Youth of the Turkic World in Uzbekistan to encourage initiative young men and women eager for everything new.
