Murojon Abdurakhimov has become the new governor of Chirchik city. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent Region Administration.

Abdurakhimov was born in Chirchik in 1986. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics in 2008 and completed a master's programme at the same university in 2010. He started his career as an economics teacher at the Baitkurgan College of Service and Economics in Kibray district.

He also worked in the Administration of Tashkent region, then in the Uzkommunhizmat agency, in the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services as a specialist, chief specialist and head of department. Prior to his appointment, he worked in a responsible position in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Murojon Abdurakhimov replaced Davron Khidoyatov, who had served as Chirchik's governor from 2021 to 2024.
