A member of the Uzbekistan national judo team, 23-year-old Muzaffarbek Turaboev won a gold medal in the -100 kg weight category. The last time the Masters tournament from Uzbekistan was won by Rishod Sobirov in 2011.
The judo team of Uzbekistan has completed participation in the Masters tournament hosted by Hungary. On it, Muzaffarbek Turaboev won in the -100 kg weight category and won the gold medal, which Uzbek judo had been waiting for 12 years. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
Having started the race with a victory over two-time Olympic champion and world champion Lukasz Krapalek, Turaboev left such athletes as Sheidi Elnahas (Canada), Mikhail Korrel (Netherlands), Bojan Dosen (Serbia) and Petr Palchik (Israel) on the championship path. Also today, Bobonov, who competed in the -90 kg weight category, won a bronze medal. For this success, Turaboev receives 1800 rating points, and Bobonov - 900.
It is worth noting that the last time Rishod Sobirov from Uzbekistan won the annual Masters competition in 2011. Thus, the national team of Uzbekistan completes the tournament this year with 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.
