NASA announced the completion of the Ingenuity helicopter, which had previously sustained damage.
The helicopter was the first Earth-based aircraft to fly independently from place to place in the atmosphere of another celestial body on its own engine.
The experiment, billed as a 30-day technology demonstration with a programme of no more than five short flights, exceeded expectations. In three years it made 72 flights, covering 17 kilometres. The maximum height of its flights reached 24 metres.
