President of Uzbekistan congratulates the national leader of the Turkmen people

On June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, had a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.
The head of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being, and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
The historical role of the National Leader in the formation and dynamic development of modern Turkmenistan, the enhancement of the country's authority on the international stage, and the strengthening of multifaceted Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighbourliness, and strategic partnership was emphasized.
The significant progress achieved in recent years in bilateral cooperation was noted with particular satisfaction. Trade turnover is increasing, a border trade zone is being created, and important joint economic and humanitarian programs are being implemented.
The leaders noted the importance of working out new cooperation projects in industry, transport, energy, agriculture, and the development of interregional and cultural exchange during the upcoming meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission.
Current aspects of regional interaction in Central Asia were also discussed.
