He said that in the absence of a military attack on Rafah, Israel risks losing the war. At the press conference, he also discussed the situation in Gaza and a possible prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.

Netanyahu emphasised that Israel will fight to the victorious end and will not stop the attacks even if a prisoner agreement is reached. He also said that a solution to recognise a Palestinian state must be reached through direct negotiations without preconditions.

Negotiations on an agreement to release Israeli prisoners have been suspended because of Hamas demands, which Netanyahu called fictitious and aimed at harming Israel.
