A pro-Palestinian activist vandalized the wax statue of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a museum in Mexico City. The Jerusalem Post reported the incident based on videos circulating on social media.

In the video, a man with his face covered by a scarf is seen spraying red paint on Netanyahu’s statue, smashing it with a hammer, and throwing it onto the floor where a Palestinian flag was laid out. Following this, he says to the camera: “Long live Palestine, long live Sudan, long live Yemen, long live Puerto Rico!” before leaving the museum.

The footage shows no museum staff attempting to stop the act, and there is no information on any measures taken by law enforcement after the incident.

It is worth noting that since October last year, the president of Mexico has been Claudia Sheinbaum, a descendant of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. She is the first woman to hold the presidency in the country’s history.

Additionally, in September 2024, Netanyahu’s statue caused a special operation involving police and rescue services in Oslo, Norway.
