The terrorist group stormed Crocus City Hall on March 22, 2024, just before the “Piknik” band’s concert, opened fire on attendees, and started a fire.
According to official data, at least 145 people were killed, and 695 others were injured in the attack. The terrorists attempted to flee but were captured in the Bryansk region.
Those suspected of carrying out the attack and aiding the terrorists were arrested. More than 1,700 people have been recognized as victims in the terror case.
“Four residents of Ingushetia — Khuseyn Medov, Jabrail Aushev, Khavazh-Baghaudin Aliyev, and Batyr Kulayev — have become suspects in the case of the terror attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow,” reports Kommersant.
According to the newspaper, the Ingushetian citizens are accused of illegal trafficking of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. Kommersant notes that investigators have combined their case with the Crocus terror case.
According to investigators, the suspects modified deactivated Kalashnikov rifles into combat-ready weapons at the terrorists’ request and handed them over along with ammunition, receiving over a million rubles in return.
FSB and criminal investigation officers detained Medov and Aushev in Ingushetia. They have already been arrested and taken to Moscow, where other suspects in the case are also being held. Aliyev and Kulayev have been placed on a wanted list.
The accused’s representatives told Kommersant that their clients deny involvement in the terror attack but admit to participating in the illegal trade of weapons and ammunition.
Investigators believe that the suspects are connected to the armed wing of the banned religious group led by Batal-Khadzhi Belkhoroyev in Russia, as well as to Ukrainian intelligence services.
