The state budget for 2025 has been approved in Uzbekistan

The law on the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025 was adopted on December 24.
According to the law, it regulates the formation and implementation of Uzbekistan's consolidated budget for 2025. The limited amounts of budget funds allocated from the republican budget to the first-level budget distributors for 2025 have been approved.
The first-level budget funds allocated from the republican budget can only be used during the 2025 financial year and will not be carried over to the next financial year.
The deficit limit of Uzbekistan's consolidated budget for 2025 is set at 3% of the gross domestic product.
The following have been approved for 2025:
minimum rental rates for individuals and legal entities renting property;
limited rates of fees for the right to retail trade in certain types of goods;
rates of fees for the entry of foreign vehicles into Uzbekistan and their transit through the country.
The draft law on the state budget for 2025 was adopted by the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis at their session on December 3 and sent to the Senate. On December 18, the law was discussed and approved at a plenary session of the Senate.
It was emphasized in the Senate that the law on the state budget for 2025 is aimed at improving the welfare of the population, reducing poverty, enhancing the quality of social services, developing a "green economy," and protecting the environment. The law also maintains the social orientation of expenditures for the following year.
During the discussion of the budget, Senate Chairperson Tanzila Norboyeva stressed that the budget process should be transparent, and funds must be spent purposefully and efficiently.
The law will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
