New Decision: Working in the Same Organization with Relatives is Prohibited

Uzbekistan

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued a decision (No. 758) that imposes restrictions on relatives working together in state organizations.

New Decision: Working in the Same Organization with Relatives is Prohibited
The purpose of this decision is to prevent potential conflicts between relatives, maintain the reputation of the workplace, and ensure smooth functioning within government organizations. In some cases, restrictions are placed on relatives working in the same organization. However, there are exceptions to these restrictions.

According to the decision, close relatives or relatives by marriage (such as parents, siblings, children, spouses, as well as the parents, siblings, and children of spouses) cannot work in the same state organization.

In particular, this restriction applies when one relative has direct control over or subordinates another relative. In such cases, working together is strictly prohibited.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers' decision includes some exceptions. If the joint work of relatives does not directly affect one another or lead to conflicts of interest, manipulation, or other negative consequences, such cases may be treated as exceptions.
