New projects in culture and tourism discussed
First, the project to build a new Silk Road Museum in Samarkand on a 9-hectare site was reviewed. According to the project, its exhibition will feature over 6,000 unique exhibits, encompassing archaeological materials, fine arts, and applied arts. The museum also plans to create spaces for permanent and temporary exhibitions, a 160-seat auditorium, a children's academy, a conservation and research center, and large storage facilities.

The presentation focused on increasing public engagement with cultural institutions and updating their content and operating formats to meet modern requirements.

In this regard, proposals were discussed for the phased transformation of 839 cultural centers across the country, giving their buildings a modern look, attracting private sector participation, and enhancing their attractiveness. Proposals were presented to develop these centers' activities in new areas that meet contemporary needs. Overall, over 1 trillion soums are planned for allocation to culture by 2030.

Early identification of talented young people in the arts, targeted training from elementary school, and, if necessary, the creation of adequate living and creative conditions at the place of study were identified as important objectives.

Proposals to support the activities of the Andijan Youth Symphony Orchestra and the "Tumor" dance ensemble were approved.

The need to expand national content in the media space and consistently build a database of our national culture, leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, was emphasized.

Furthermore, plans are underway to introduce a preferential lending system to launch non-governmental cultural organizations, provide state support to non-governmental theaters and theater studios, and provide grants for their projects.

It was noted that since the beginning of this year, approximately 3 million tourists have visited our country, an increase of 37 percent, while tourism exports have increased by 48 percent, reaching $1.1 billion. The goal has been set to attract 20 million foreign tourists by 2030 and to serve 12 million tourists by 2026.

In this regard, the need to implement targeted programs to increase the tourism potential of each region, taking into account its specific characteristics, was emphasized.

To this end, measures to accelerate the development of tourism infrastructure in the regions and organize the industry based on project management were considered. Specifically, in 2026–2027, it is planned to begin implementing 31 master plans, create over 40,000 new jobs, increase the number of accommodation facilities to 8,250, and the total number of tourist villages and tourist mahallas to 84.

A number of mechanisms for developing new tourism products and supporting entrepreneurship are also envisaged.

Specifically, it is planned to compensate up to 25 percent of promotional expenses aimed at attracting foreign tourists, but no more than 500 million soums. It also plans to incentivize private entrepreneurs who have systematically established cultural and theatrical programs for tourists. It also plans to organize practical training courses with the participation of domestic and foreign service industry specialists.

The presentation also discussed new approaches to broadly promoting the republic's tourism potential in the international market.

Following the discussion, responsible officials were given appropriate instructions to thoroughly study the projects and initiatives discussed and implement them based on clear calculations and plans.
