The World Weightlifting Championship for adults, held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, has concluded. In a highly competitive and intense event, Uzbekistan’s national weightlifting team secured a spot among the top three nations.

The team members achieved remarkable success, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, marking new heights for Uzbekistan’s sports achievements. Notably, the men’s national team secured a place among the top three teams in the overall standings at the World Championship.

Uzbekistan's athletes showcased their exceptional skills at the championship in Manama:

Sarvarbek Zafarjonov won a bronze medal in the snatch in the 89 kg weight category.

Muhammadqodir Toshtemirov, competing in the 81 kg weight category, claimed a bronze medal in the snatch and a silver medal in the total.

Sharofiddin Amriddinov, in the 109 kg weight category, secured a gold medal in the snatch. Meanwhile, Ruslan Nuridinov, also competing in the 109 kg category, clinched gold medals in both the clean and jerk and the total.

A particularly memorable moment of the championship was when Ruslan Nuridinov broke his own world record, reaffirming his position as the best in the world for the third time.

With around 70 countries participating in this prestigious event, the inclusion of Uzbekistan's national weightlifting team in the top three highlights the growing prominence of Uzbek sports on the global stage with every new victory.
