The new service will provide citizens with the opportunity to file appeals against imposed fines directly through the government services portal. The complaint review process will take ten days. However, as the portal’s press service clarified, the period for withholding the fine is not suspended while the appeal is being considered.

“During the consideration of the appeal, the period of withholding the fine is not suspended,” the EPIGU statement says. This means that fines will be withheld even if a complaint is filed. If the appeal is granted, the administrative violation case will be terminated in accordance with the current legislation of Uzbekistan.

The move is part of the government's efforts to digitize and simplify government services. Previously, the portal reported that citizens can now apply for a driver’s license online, which has become another convenient innovation for residents of the country.
