Rakhmatulla Nazarov replaced Nosirjon Yusupov, who headed the Embassy in 2018-2021. Prior to his appointment, he was acting as Counsellor of the Embassy, Charge d'Affaires ad interim.

New Uzbek ambassador to Belarus appointed
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Nazarov, who has represented our country as Counsellor of the Embassy, Charge d'Affaires since 2021, took up his duties in the capital of Belarus. This is reported by the Dunyo news agency.

The Ambassador is 53 years old. He graduated from the Uzbek State University of World Languages and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. He began his career in 1995 in commercial structures in Tashkent. In 1997, he was hired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an attaché in the Treaty and Legal Department, and later held successive positions in a number of other departments, including Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as in embassies in Belgium, Kyrgyzstan, and was national coordinator for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In different years he worked in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, was the first director of the SCO Centre for People's Diplomacy in Tashkent, and was elected a member of the Senate.

Prior to his appointment to Belarus, he held the position of Counsellor to the Head of the Foreign Ministry. He speaks Russian, English and French.

Recall that the Embassy in Minsk was opened in 2018.
