New Uzbek ambassador to the UK appointed

Ravshan Usmanov, who has been appointed as Uzbekistan's ambassador to the UK, arrived in London last night. He was Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Malaysia from 2018 to date.
Ravshan Usmanov, appointed as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the UK, arrived in London. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
Usmanov was Uzbekistan's ambassador to Malaysia from 2018 until now. The 45-year-old ambassador is a graduate of the University of Birmingham (UK), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry and the Tashkent State Law Institute (now a university).
He started working in the field of foreign policy in 2000. Initially, he worked in various positions at the Central Office and the Uzbek Embassy in Spain. He then headed the Foreign Ministry's Directorate for Co-operation with European countries and NATO. He worked as ambassador to France, as well as part-time in Italy and Portugal.
Ravshan Usmanov succeeds Said Rustamov, who has been Uzbekistan's ambassador to the UK since 2019.
