Nizhnekamsk Drone Attack: Minnikhanov Visits Victims as Uzbekistan Sends Special Team

Tatarstan Head Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Central District Hospital in Nizhnekamsk, where people injured in a drone attack are receiving treatment. According to Uzbek authorities, eight Uzbek citizens working as construction workers in the city were among those killed.
Minnikhanov spoke with the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. Doctors briefed him on the condition of the patients. According to medical officials, most of those hospitalized suffered minor shrapnel wounds to their limbs. All injured people received the necessary medical assistance and initial surgical treatment of their wounds.
The Tatarstan leader also expressed condolences to the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan over the deaths of their citizens. Several Uzbek citizens were reportedly hospitalized. The death of a Tajik citizen has also been confirmed.
Following the deaths of Uzbek citizens, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered the establishment of a government commission and the dispatch of a special working group to Russia. The group includes representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Migration Agency and other government bodies. It is working to assist those injured and organize the repatriation of the bodies of those killed.
According to the Uzbek side, 78 people were injured in the attack, with 25 remaining in hospitals. Russian reports, however, have cited a higher overall death toll in Nizhnekamsk, meaning the final casualty figures remain subject to clarification.
