North Korea announces satellite launch failure
Today, on May 31, the attempt of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) launching the first spy satellite into space ended in failure. This is reported by AP News.

According to the DPRK Central News Agency, the Chollima-1 rocket was launched at 06:37 local time. The rocket crashed off the west coast of the South Korean peninsula due to engine failure after the separation of the first stage during flight.

According to the report, North Korea will conduct a second flight as soon as possible after studying serious shortcomings in the rocket launch.

South Korea, Japan and the United States, in turn, condemned the missile launch by North Korea.

"This launch, regardless of whether it was successful or not, was a gross violation of UN Security Council resolutions and a serious provocation threatening peace and security on the Korean Рeninsula," the South Korean presidential administration said in a statement.
