On March 18, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held its next session. During the meeting, deputies reviewed in the first reading the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan", which was developed under the legislative initiative process.

This draft introduces the concept of private prosecution into the Code of Administrative Responsibility of Uzbekistan. This brings significant changes to the practice of handling administrative offenses.

Additionally, the draft law stipulates that in special cases, where the victim is in a vulnerable situation, is a minor, is dependent on the offender, or for other reasons cannot independently protect their rights and legitimate interests, an authorized official must initiate administrative proceedings even without a complaint from the victim.

The adoption of this law will strengthen guarantees for the reliable protection of victims' rights and freedoms, laying the foundation for further reinforcement of justice principles in the country.

Deputies approved the draft law in the first reading.
