The law signed by the President amends and supplements the Codes on Criminal and Administrative Liability.
Under the amendment to the Code of Administrative Liability, the performance of a religious rite of marriage between persons whose marriage is not registered in accordance with the procedure established by law, including with a person under the age of marriage, shall be punishable by a fine of 15 to 30 times (from 4,950,000 to 9,900,000 sums).
Propaganda of conjugal life with two or more wives, dissemination of views, ideas or appeals to such content, or encouragement of such behaviour shall entail a fine of 15 to 30 times (4,950,000 to 9,900,000 sums) or administrative detention for up to 15 days.
