Now You Can Lease Land for Up to 49 Years

The Presidential Decree No. PF-18 "On Further Measures to Create Favorable Conditions for Attracting Investments in the Agricultural Sector and Increasing the Productivity of Farmland" has been adopted.
According to the decree, a new system will be introduced on an experimental basis when allocating agricultural land plots. This system is based on the independence of tenants and the cultivation of high-value crops.
Under the new system:
Land plots ranging from 3 to 50 hectares, without disrupting contour integrity or irrigation systems, will be put up for auction through the "E-auction" platform.
All individuals and legal entities (residents), including enterprises with foreign investments, can participate in electronic online auctions regardless of their place of residence, legal status, or ownership of other land plots.
The winner of the electronic online auction – the tenant – will receive the following rights in addition to the rights and obligations established by the Land Code:
The right to lease the land plot for 49 years;
The ability to independently determine the types, varieties, and volumes of crops;
The right to sublease the land plot;
The right to place agricultural service facilities on an area of up to 20 sotkas (0.2 hectares) at the field’s edge.
Under the new system:
