In connection with his appointment as rector of Turin Polytechnic University, Olimjon Alijonovich Tuychiev has been relieved of the post of director of the Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, which he held since January 2023, the press service of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation reports.
In 2013, Tuychiev was awarded the Shukhrat Medal for his contribution to the field of science and technology, especially in popularising the field of robotics among young people, for creating the first robot that can be remotely controlled by voice, performs various tasks, and understands the Uzbek language.
In 2017, the President appointed Olimjon Tuychiev as Deputy Director General of the Agency for Science and Technology. From March 2019 to April 2021, O. Tuychiev worked as Deputy Minister of Innovative Development.
