Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds meeting on results of work on youth policy

On June 28, 2024, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a video conference dedicated to reviewing the outcomes of youth policy and measures for comprehensive youth support, according to the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov.

The President noted that the past seven years have been a period of "great leap" in supporting youth and realizing their talents and potential.

The meeting highlighted that over this period, more than 100 laws and decrees have been enacted, over 200 benefits provided, and 151,000 young people have utilized educational loans. Additionally, 332 billion soums were allocated to cover contracts for 110,000 students from needy families. This led to an increase in higher education coverage from 9% to 42%, and the number of universities grew from 77 to 212.

The President expressed deep gratitude to parents, teachers, and coaches for their contribution to the upbringing and education of Uzbekistan's youth, which helped achieve such successes.

According to Sherzod Asadov, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also present state awards to a group of young people in celebration of Youth Day, which is observed on June 30.
